LEARNING ARTISTRY
We are a consulting company that specialises in the design of digital learning ecosystems.
We recently celebrated our 5th year anniversary. Our success is due to carefully listening to our clients’ needs, working closely with them to get the best from the project and making sure that all our solutions achieve the desired outcomes.
We like to think of ourselves as learning design artisans – selecting the very best ingredients, carefully mixing them together, hand-shaping them and arranging them perfectly.
We are also enthusiastic users of digital learning tools. Our goal is to merge technology with learning in creative and effective ways.

Experience matters
We are an experienced team but we still love the challenge of mastering new approaches to design. Our clients benefit from the time we spend with the global learning community and industry experts.
ATD 2018 International Conference
In May we joined colleagues from around the globe to network and learn at the ATD 2018 International Conference in San Diego. Key themes were lifelong learning, skills as a currency, the expertise economy and microlearning. We were particularly interested in the use of data to derive insight and the power of AI and machine learning to support personalised and adaptive learning. Impressive speakers included Carol Leaman (CEO, Axonify), Kelly Palmer (Chief Learning Officer, Degreed), Elliot Masie (Producer, analyst and researcher) and John Mattox (Gartner, Metrics that Matter).
Learning Technologies 2018
Europe’s leading conference for organisational learning and the technology used to support learning at work. Major themes at the conference were the role of AI in learning, the rise of microlearning (especially in video format), and the important role that learning analytics plays in organisational performance.
Learning Innovation Africa 2018
The tagline for this year’s LIA conference was ‘Learning is being Ubered! Don’t get left behind…’. With a focus on digital, strategic, innovative and point-of-need learning that just about fits into your pocket, Ceed was all over this opportunity! Laura kicked off day one by joining the ‘Millennial Council’ panel discussion and drove home the ‘millennial is a mindset’ message. We partnered with The Networking Company, got crafty during the tea break and challenged attendees to answer our riddle for a chance to win a Learning Battle Cards (LBCs) canvas. On day two we took our LBC Deep Dive Immersion session literally and had our attendees design a complete learning experience using LBCs, canvases and our ever popular, idea-stimulating bendy-men. We also shared our key project learnings when it comes to delivering on an e-enablement strategy. Our end-of-conference raffle saw Nedbank’s Debbie Bowyer win a set of LBCs which her team has since added to their design toolkit.
Axonify Community Conference 2018
In October we attended the Axonify Community Conference in Toronto! What a great experience it was to connect with Axonify customers, partners, and staff to share best practice and engage in big thinking, game-changing discussions about how Axonify drives purposeful business outcomes. The 2018 Microlearning Global Benchmark Report was a key take away – the first report of its kind that examines Axonify customer’s data to understand how Microlearning improves frontline employee knowledge, confidence, performance, and significantly impacts business results. Contact us for a copy of the report!
AfricArena 2018
We were invited to participate in the AfricArena challenge held at Leroy Merlin‘s brand new home improvement store in Edenvale. Kershia Naidoo did a great job of pitching our two learning Apps to upskill contractors on how to install Saint-Gobain systems and position themselves as approved installers. Key messages for startups from the panel discussion about the tech opportunities in the South African Ecosystem included: understand your target market, focus on a clear business objective, have a tested minimum viable product before going to market and when asking for funding and make sure you already have some clients in play.
Atlas Mara Learning Fair
Ceed Learning, as part of the Connemara Enterprise, participated in Atlas Mara’s inaugural Learning Fair at their brand new Learning Centre in Lusaka, Zambia. The fair was comprised of 45 minute learning sessions related to important business topics such as sales and service, complaints management, operational risk, building high performance teams, and how blended learning can help organisations such as Atlas Mara achieve their learning (and therefore business) objectives.
